Two taps, no keyboard
Changing a word is two taps: touch a letter, then touch one of the leaves offered. Only letters that make a real word are ever offered, so “that isn’t a word” never happens.
A cozy word-ladder game for iPhone and iPad
Grow Worlds from Words.
Change one letter at a time to turn a start word into a target word — and watch a miniature world grow under glass with every word you play.
Interface in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. The word puzzles themselves are in English.
Made for iPhone and iPad · iOS 17+
Quiet, gentle play
Changing a word is two taps: touch a letter, then touch one of the leaves offered. Only letters that make a real word are ever offered, so “that isn’t a word” never happens.
What grows under the glass comes from the words you play — a fox, a moon, a pine, a lantern, 39 things in all. Two people who solve the same puzzle by different routes end up with different worlds.
Ten named shelves, from one-move sprouts to eleven-move rare blooms. Every ladder is hand-picked and machine-verified, and a finished world remembers every route it has been grown by — up to eight.
A daily world, the same for everybody, with a twelve-week archive. Miss a day and it’s repairable — growing an old day fills that day in.
See the world grow

What it doesn’t do
Word Terrarium is paid once, upfront. There is nothing to consent to and nothing to be interrupted by — just the puzzle and the little world growing beside it.
One purchase, yours to keep
Paid once, upfront. Nothing locked, nothing to buy later, and it all works offline. Finished worlds can sync through your own iCloud account, and Game Center achievements are optional — and nothing else.
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store.
